Utopia or Dystopia – Poetry Workshop with Shirley Serviss

A sincere thank you to Shirley for facilitating the Utopia or Dystopia workshop at the McMullen Gallery at the University of Alberta Hospital on February 22, 2020. Shirley led fifteen participants through a series of writing prompts based on the gallery’s installation by Emmanuel Osahor: paintings of real and imagined landscapes within Edmonton, a living wall of tropical plants and a soundscape of the river valley.

Thank you also to the participants for attending to make this a positive collaboration!

DEADLINE EXTENSION for THE FIRST STROLL ANTHOLOGY OF THE DECADE!

Hello Strollers,

First of all, my sincere thanks to all those who submitted their poems to me by the original deadline of January 15, 2020. I sincerely appreciate your compliance with the guidelines.

It’s possible that the frigid temperatures of the last few days have taken a toll on all of us. The general tendency is to burrow under the covers and wait it out! But believe it or not, this seems to have had an impact on the Stroll of Poets Anthology 2020. So, due to low submission numbers (whether for this reason or any other), it has been decided to extend the deadline to midnight on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

The Board, and I as editor, have made this decision in order to allow as many members as possible to see their work in print. Please take advantage of the opportunity. No further extension will be considered.

Stroll guidelines are found at: https://www.strollofpoets.com/stroll-anthology/.

Looking forward to your submission …
