Support the Stroll

There are many ways you can support the Stroll.

Volunteer With The Stroll
The success of the Stroll comes from the help of many volunteers. There is a variety of jobs that may interest you. Volunteer roles range in commitment from only one evening (Mic Host or Door Host) to assisting at our AGM to joining our Board of Directors.

For more details, see Volunteer Job Descriptions.

Donate Financially to the Stroll
We are a non-profit society and rely on the generosity of donations to ensure we can continue to Stroll! Please note that. although every donation is greatly appreciated, we are a society, not charity, and therefore cannot issue Charitable Tax Receipts.

There are a number of options for donating to the Stroll.

  1. Use the “Donate” button on the left-side menu of the website to donate using PayPal.
  2. Bring a cash or cheque donation to a Haven Reading for our famous Translucent Box!
  3. Send us an eTransfer. Contact Us  to receive instructions on how to eTransfer.
  4. Mail a cheque to: The Stroll of Poets c/o Writers’ Guild of Alberta (WGA), 11759 Groat Road NW, Edmonton, AB, T5M 3K6.

Donate your Bottles to the Stroll
As of 2025, the Stroll is now fundraising with Skip-the-Depot — a door-to-door bottle collection service that makes refundable recycling and fundraising easy!

If you choose the donate option, the Stroll will receive the proceeds – making it easier than ever to support your poetry community!

1. Download the app and book a pickup at https://app.skipthedepot.com/strollofpoets

2. Remember to apply the promo code “STROLLOFPOETS” (no spaces, all caps) on every pickup booked to send 100% of your refund as a donation to the Stroll.

3. Place your bottles in boxes or bags outside.

Tips to ensure a good pick-up experience:

  • Be sure to place your bottles in boxes or bags. Skip-the-Depot does not sort through general recycling to collect bottles.
  • If you are not handing out your bags when our driver arrives (placing your bags out at the beginning of the day), please be sure to place them somewhere out of sight of walking traffic to prevent theft (back yard, side of house etc.). Make sure to indicate where to look in your pickup instructions.
  • If you live in a condo, please indicate where to park, what your unit number is / floor you are on, and what your buzzer code is.
