Global Warning: I

I believe heaven is not up and hell is not down
but each is everywhere
it is the will of our collective minds and soul
sealing our planet’s environment, its destiny

parching winds or solar sands
days edged in frozen shadow like polar nights
the earth opening to swallow us whole
into silent darkness
torrential waters rising above and over
fiery mountains, dry rivers to drown us

the sun is a trick
burning away
to void and limitless cold

weather of ages turning against humanity
as if a hurricane’s eye
a volcano’s breath
or, an earthquake’s shake
replaces all human terrorist acts
as the only true and victorious memory

when the astral replaces the physical
and we are hanging by its umbilical cord
painted with the colour of betrayal
the ice age will come
when the silver taken from the land
outweighs the gold of the sun
and the earth reclaims its grail
