The Melt

the now dirtied snow banks
sit heavy
by the road side
as father winter sinks slowly
into the meeting
of sister spring
where she
not minding a soul
meanders in cheerful puddles
and running streams
only to create
the beautiful crescendo
of a curbside waterfall
