Send Us Your Anthology Submission

Submit Your Poem

To be published in the 2012 Stroll of Poets’ Anthology you must:
1) Be a member of the Stroll of Poets (with membership fee paid)
2) Perform in a scheduled reading at either the Upper Crust readings or Greenwoods’ Book Shoppe readings between September 2011 and March 2012.

Anthology Submission Guidelines

Please read these guidelines very carefully.
Every poet who performs as a scheduled reader at either the Upper Crust or Greenwoods’ Book Shoppe readings between September 2011 to March 2012 is invited to submit one 30-line poem and one bio (maximum 65 words) for inclusion in the Stroll of Poets Anthology. Each poem and bio gets one page in the Anthology. Each contributing poet receives a copy of the Anthology at the AGM in March.

Poems and/or bios that do not meet the specifications outlined below may need to be cut, narrowed, shortened or have lines broken. This may unintentionally change the meaning of your poem or bio.

1. Submission deadline is January 15, 2012. Please do not submit until the series starts in September 2011.
2. Poems must have a title.
3. Maximum length of poem: 30 lines - this includes a one line title, blank lines between the title and first stanza and blank lines between stanzas.
4. Maximum width of poem: 75 spaces, using 12 point font and Times New Roman (no variations).
5. Include your bio at the end of your poem. Leave one space between your poem and your bio. Use your name as the start of your bio; your bio must not exceed 65 words.

For online submissions:

1. Submit your poem and bio online, in either simple text-file (.rft) or Microsoft Word format (.doc), using the upload form at the bottom or on the Stroll’s website  http://www.strollofpoets.com/anthology.php

For hardcopy submissions:

1. Follow the guidelines above for length, etc.
2. Type your poem and bio on 8 1/2 by 11 paper (again using 12 point font and Times New Roman)
3. Include on a separate sheet, your name, address, telephone number, email if available
4. Mail poem, bio and contact information sheet to:

To appear in the anthology, you must perform in one of the 2011-12 readings.
1. Sign up at the Stroll’s website by the reading schedule deadline.
2. You will be notified of your confirmed date. Please note this on your calendar.
3. Accommodating date changes is difficult for our volunteer coordinators. Please do not change your reading date unless necessary. The Stroll’s policy is to permit a maximum of one date change per member each year.
